Swords

The Swords belong to the element of Air. They represent the mind: thought, communication, truth and conflict. Swords cards often describe moments of clarity, difficult decisions, or the tension between what we think and what we feel.

Themes in the Swords include truth, justice, conflict, anxiety and mental clarity. When Swords appear, they can point to the need to think clearly, to communicate honestly, or to face a challenging situation. Unlike the Major Arcana’s symbolic journey, Swords focus on the practical work of the mind – cutting through confusion to see what is real.
